Do I need an account to use Jot?

No. Open Jot and start writing in local mode. An account is only required for Jot Cloud and its multi-device sync.

Where are free notes stored?

They’re saved in this browser on this device. Because clearing site data can remove local notes, use Jot Cloud if you want server-backed copies across devices.

What does Jot Cloud sync?

Your notes, note history, shortcuts, and writing heuristics. Private service credentials for uploads or storage providers always remain on the device where you entered them.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes. Jot Cloud is billed monthly and can be managed from your account’s secure billing portal.
